Transmitters are for voice, radios are for music

Big Walk has both handheld music radios and fixed radio transmitters. The radio-channel guide tracks the seven music stations; this page is about the microphone-and-receiver setups used for communication.

ScreenHype describes transmitters as fixed points that broadcast to receivers around the map, which makes them useful after the group splits across towers, trains or late-game routes.

How to broadcast

On PC, ScreenHype says to press and hold the button on the front of the transmitter microphone, then speak normally. A player standing near a receiver does not need to press anything to hear the broadcast.

The guide says broadcasts can be heard at other receiver boxes around the map, so a transmitter is best used like a public announcement: say where you are, what landmark you see and what help you need.

Known transmitter locations

ScreenHype notes that most transmitters are easy to spot at night because of flashing red lights. Use this list as a route lead until this wiki captures its own screenshots.

Pair with nearby tools

ScreenHype notes that transmitters often have binoculars nearby, and tower-top transmitters can have laser pointers. That pairing matters: one player can identify a lost teammate, broadcast directions and point toward the route at the same time.

If nobody answers at a receiver, switch to another signal: fire a flare, ride a train loop, return to the Map Room or use a walkie-talkie if your group has one.
