A Big Walk world landmark in an open landscape

Fixed objects are not automatically solved puzzles

Big Walk's island includes objects that appear to belong to the world rather than the normal player-held tool list. The independent release-build index identifies nine families: gourd, key piece, field radio, signal flags, buoy, backpack, telescope, microphone and volleyball.

A mesh, scene label or named family is useful for discovery, but it is not enough to explain what the object does. This page records what can be safely said, then keeps the puzzle relationship open until an official explanation or a reproducible gameplay report exists.

World-object index

Use the object name as a search lead, not as a promise that every copy of the object has the same role. Portable versions and fixed world versions are kept separate when the sources make that distinction.

Object familyEvidence-led descriptionOpen question
GourdA named world-object family with a recognizable rounded gourd mesh.Is it decorative, carryable, a sound prop or part of a specific challenge?
Key pieceA key-related mesh family that may be useful when tracking locked structures or key-shaped objects.Which lock, sequence or area does it belong to?
Field radioA fixed radio family with field-radio, antenna, tuner and station-related build references. Are stations selectable, and how do fixed radios relate to walkie-talkies?
Signal flagsA paired flag family suited to visual communication or a signal puzzle. Is there a readable code, order or distance rule?
BuoyA coastal object family with a buoy mesh and a large circular opening. Is it a landmark only, or does it respond to a player action?
Backpack frameA world backpack-frame family distinct from the player's carrying inventory.Does it represent a pickup, a storage point or scenery?
TelescopeA fixed telescope-like family associated with the Opt-Tele naming lead.Does it reveal a location or simply mark the ridge?
MicrophoneA large fixed microphone or speaker-like family connected to communication leads. Is it a receiver, an amplifier, a broadcast point or a visual prop?
VolleyballA volleyball family with player-count variants in the release-build index.Which sports interaction is required, and does group size alter it?

Radio and signal devices

The field-radio family is the strongest reason to keep world radios separate from handheld walkie-talkies. The official FAQ supports the portable radio treatment, while the release-build evidence supports a broader fixed-device family with antenna, tuner and station references. That combination is enough to justify a radio topic, but not enough to publish frequencies or a station-by-station solution.

Signal flags, microphones and other fixed devices should be treated the same way: document the object, record its landmark and preserve the verification label until a player can reproduce the interaction.

  • Start a report with the exact object name, area label and platform.
  • Describe what a player did and what changed, rather than inferring the object's purpose from its shape.
  • Capture both the object and the nearby landmark when sharing a discovery.
  • Keep radio channels, frequencies and receiver relationships in the open-leads category until tested.

How to contribute a confirmed object note

A useful object report needs more than a screenshot. Include the release version, platform, world-size choice, approximate area, number of players, interaction steps and the visible result. If the result is only a build label or a third-party route, say so directly.

  • Confirmed existence: the object or family is visible and named in an accessible release source.
  • Player interaction: the same input produces the same result in a reproducible session.
  • Puzzle role: the interaction is connected to a specific challenge or progression gate.
  • Official status: House House or Panic has described the mechanic or object publicly.
