What this area index can and cannot tell you
No official Big Walk map has been published. This index turns the release-build scene and terrain labels into a searchable set of names so players can compare landmarks, screenshots and route reports without pretending that internal labels are a finished map.
The labels run from early western areas through southern rivers, the central Peak cluster, the Big Wall and the far-north ending labels. Number gaps are preserved; a missing number is not evidence that a region or objective is missing from the game.
- Use the area name as a shared vocabulary when reporting a route.
- Pair a label with a visible landmark, platform and player-count world.
- Do not infer a shop, storage point, settlement, lava zone or ending route from a name alone.
- Open the walkthrough and map guides only when you need a player-facing route.
Release-build area labels
The table is intentionally descriptive but conservative. It records the label and the safest navigation clue available from the indexed materials.
| Area label | Build-facing clue | Reader caution |
|---|---|---|
| Intro Valley | 01_IntroValley; the opening valley label and a natural starting-area reference. | Likely opening geography, not a complete tutorial route. |
| West Coast Headlands | 02_WestCoastHeadlands; west-coast headland label following the opening region. | Do not infer the full coast boundary from the name. |
| Red Cone Ridge | 03_RedConeRidge; a ridge label with a red-cone naming lead. | The label does not confirm a visible cone at every approach. |
| Sports Valley | 04_SportsValley; sports-themed valley label with volleyball-related build references. | Object variants do not establish a full sports quest. |
| Opt-Tele Ridge | 05_OptTeleRidge; a ridge label linked to the telescope lead. | The name suggests an observation point, not a confirmed telescope solution. |
| Green Tower / Yellow Diffuser Ridge | 08_GreenTowerYellowDiffuserRidge; colored tower and diffuser naming family. | Color names are landmarks, not a verified objective order. |
| Blue Tower Ridge | 34_BlueTowerRidge; blue tower landmark family. | Tower purpose and unlock relationship remain open. |
| Black Tower Ridge | 36_BlackTowerRidge; black tower landmark family. | Do not treat the tower color as a puzzle code without evidence. |
| Yellow Tower to Vereker Ridge | 41_YellowTowerToVerekerRidge; route-facing label connecting a tower and Vereker lead. | Vereker is a named lead, not proof of a settlement. |
| North of Vereker | 43_NorthOfVereker; northern label with Vereker Coast Point and backpack-pavilion references. | A pavilion reference does not prove a shop or storage system. |
| High Plateau | 42_HighPlateau; high northern plateau label. | Elevation is a build-facing clue, not a route difficulty guarantee. |
| Airfield Valley | 44_AirfieldValley; valley label carrying an airfield naming lead. | No aircraft, runway or flight mechanic is confirmed by the label. |
| Hub Ridge | 45_HubRidge; hub naming lead in the northern route group. | A hub function is not officially documented. |
| Peak Centre | Central Peak label in the five-part Peak cluster. | Achievement and route connections need platform-specific verification. |
| Peak South-West | 51_PeakSW; southwest Peak sub-area. | Sub-area name alone does not give the climb route. |
| Peak South-East | 52_PeakSE; southeast Peak sub-area. | Treat the four Peak sectors as navigation labels. |
| Peak North-East | 53_PeakNE; northeast Peak sub-area. | No sector-specific solution is implied. |
| Peak North-West | 54_PeakNW; northwest Peak sub-area. | No sector-specific solution is implied. |
| Big Wall | 60_BigWall; major wall label before the north-of-wall group. | It aligns with a Big Wall landmark, not a published crossing method. |
| North of the Wall | 61_NorthOfTheWall; first label beyond the Big Wall group. | Beyond-wall route and progression are not claimed here. |
| Big Drift Surround | 62_BigDriftSurround; area surrounding a Big Drift naming lead. | The name may suggest terrain, but does not prove a snow mechanic. |
| Orb Ridge | 63_OrbRidge; ridge label with an orb naming lead. | Orb location and function remain open. |
| Far North Ending Area | 64_FarNorthEndingArea; explicit far-north ending-area label. | This confirms a label, not the complete ending sequence. |
| Goodbye Gate | 65_GoodbyeGate; gate label associated with the far-north group. | Do not publish a gate-opening route without reproduction. |
| Southern Valley | 21_SouthernValley; lower southern valley in the 21-23 group. | The sequence is a label relationship, not a guaranteed travel order. |
| Southern Ridge | 22_SouthernRidge; southern ridge companion label. | Terrain name does not prove a unique puzzle. |
| Southern Plateau | 23_SouthernPlateau; southern plateau companion label. | Terrain name does not prove a unique puzzle. |
| East Coast Headlands | 30_EastCoastHeadlands; east-coast headland label. | Use a screenshot or landmark with the label. |
| Hot Zone Coastal | 31_HotZoneCoastal; coastal hot-zone naming lead. | No heat or lava mechanic is confirmed. |
| Hot Zone Ridge | 32_HotZoneRidge; ridge companion to the hot-zone label. | No environmental damage is confirmed. |
| Sealers' Valley | 33_SealersValley; valley label paired with the Sealers river group. | The name is not a confirmed character or settlement history. |
| Five Mile Valley / Green Diffuser | 35_FiveMileValleyGreenDiffuser; valley and diffuser naming lead. | Five Mile is not a measured map distance. |
| Intro River | 71_IntroRiver; river companion to the intro area. | River labels do not prove a separate quest chain. |
| Sports River | 72_SportsRiver; river companion to Sports Valley. | Use the valley landmark to disambiguate the river label. |
| Southern River | 73_SouthernRiver; southern river label. | No crossing mechanic is implied. |
| Sealers' River | 74_SealersRiver; river companion to Sealers' Valley. | No route or named NPC claim is implied. |
| Terrain North | 80_TerrainNorth; technical terrain chunk. | Technical terrain labels are not necessarily player-facing names. |
| Terrain East | 81_TerrainEast; technical terrain chunk. | Technical terrain labels are not necessarily player-facing names. |
| Terrain South | 82_TerrainSouth; technical terrain chunk. | Technical terrain labels are not necessarily player-facing names. |
| Terrain West | 83_TerrainWest; technical terrain chunk. | Technical terrain labels are not necessarily player-facing names. |
| Secret Zone | 99_SecretZone; the only explicit secret-zone label in the index. | Entrance, location and contents are unknown. |
How to use the labels with our other guides
The area index works best as a vocabulary layer. Start with the map guide for navigation principles, use the walkthrough for a reported route, and use the puzzle index for a spoiler-controlled challenge lead. When a source gives coordinates, keep the landmark and the source next to the number; coordinates without a platform or version are difficult to audit after an update.
- Area label + landmark + platform + version is the minimum useful report.
- Keep official facts separate from release-build observations.
- Mark third-party routes as unverified until the wiki reproduces them.
- Do not convert internal names into a definitive world map.
