Fan art rule of thumb
The official FAQ is the first place to check for fan-work guidance. The material plan also flags commercial use as a special case: do not assume a fan-work permission covers paid products, merch or ad-heavy republishing.
For this wiki, fan art should be handled as community contribution material: ask for permission before using an artist's image, keep their chosen name and link visible, and avoid implying House House or Panic endorsement.
Press Kit and guide images
Official Press Kit assets are the cleanest visual source for article covers, media references and social cards. Third-party guide images can be useful when they show an exact route or menu, but they need page-level credit.
The current ScreenHype-sourced guide pages use remote image URLs and captions that identify ScreenHype as the source. If this wiki later captures its own screenshots, those should replace third-party images where possible.
Publishing checklist
Use this table before adding any visual or quoted material to a public page.
| Material | Allowed use | Required attribution |
|---|---|---|
| Official Press Kit image or GIF | Article covers, visual references, media hub links | Name House House / Panic and link the Press Kit. |
| Official YouTube trailer | Embed official player | Use YouTube embed and original video title. |
| ScreenHype screenshot | Route-specific guide illustration when credited | Name ScreenHype, author when known, article URL and date. |
| Community fan art | Only with permission or explicit license | Artist name, source link and permission/license note. |
| Reddit or Steam screenshot | Avoid unless permission is explicit | Remove private IDs and link the original post if used. |
| Long guide text or review prose | Do not copy wholesale | Summarize in this wiki's voice and link the source. |
Contact and escalation
If a planned use looks commercial or ambiguous, use official policy first and contact the rights holder before publishing. Keep a source card or internal note with the decision so future editors do not have to rediscover the same rule.
A takedown or correction request should be handled by replacing the asset, preserving the factual page where possible and noting the source change in the updates log.
